Cha Gutierrez is a diasporic Puerto Rican and Mexican-American artist whose work explores identity, matriarchy and the resilience of women through figurative portraiture, surreal natural elements, and cultural storytelling.
Raised in Phoenix, AZ, her work is also deeply influenced by the landscapes of both the Sonoran Desert and Puerto Rico, reflecting her dual heritage. Incorporating oil, acrylic, and fiber arts, she examines the role of women as caretakers of tradition, memory and labor.
Gutierrez has exhibited widely in Phoenix, including a solo exhibition at the Sagrado Gallery and most recently the Artlink Phoenix’s Art D’core Gala Exhibition. She is currently developing “The Matriarch Series”, a multidisciplinary project honoring women’s intergenerational narratives.
