Karen Fernanda Hugues is a visual artist and muralist, native of San Luis, Arizona; a small border town Southwest of Arizona. With desire and passion to start her art journey, she migrated to Phoenix, AZ in 2014 where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art Studies and a minor in Film and Media Production. She currently resides in Phoenix, AZ where she is known for her expressive portrait of women that explores self-discovery and emotion.
She works primarily in acrylic, oil and mixed media blending vibrant colors with bold brushstrokes to capture nuances of femininity. She is constantly inspired by personal growth and experiences, her work invites viewers into an intimate dialogue.
Karen has exhibited at the Yuma Art Center and was part of the Xico’s 50th Galeria Exhibition. She is constantly seeking new opportunities to learn new skills, share her work and build new connections. Through her work, she hopes to inspire connection, self-admiration and self-reflection.
