Phoenix, AZ — Xico announces that Donna Valdés, Executive Director, will transition from her role at the end of the month to pursue new opportunities. As Executive Director, Donna’s leadership over two decades, has significantly advanced Xico’s mission and vision.
Amber Starr, Board President, remarked, “Donna’s leadership has been pivotal in expanding Xico’s impact. Her dedication to the arts and community have made her a cherished leader and advocate.”
Founded in 1975, Xico has fostered artistic excellence and provided opportunities for artists and the community. Most recently, Donna led the Xico art gallery’s move to downtown Phoenix, where it was recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the “10 Best Things To Do In Phoenix.”
As the search for an Interim Executive Director continues, José Cárdenas, Emeritus Board Member and Annual Dinner Chair will step in to assist with managing Xico operations, offering his expertise and guidance to maintain the organization’s momentum.
As Xico approaches its 50th year, we look forward to continuing our impactful work in the community, beginning with the 37th Annual Dinner and Art Auction.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Donna and look forward to embracing this new chapter in Xico’s history.
