2024 Virginia E. Cárdenas Arts Advocate Awardee
Xico proudly announces Ruben E. Alvarez as the esteemed recipient of the 2024 Virginia E. Cárdenas Arts Advocate Award. A dedicated champion of the arts, Ruben’s enduring support has significantly enriched the cultural landscape locally and nationally. His impactful contributions extend beyond Xico to encompass roles in influential organizations, including CALA Alliance and the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies. As co-founder of Molera Alvarez, LLC.
Ruben’s commitment to arts advocacy is complemented by his achievements in government relations. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, Ruben Alvarez stands as a deserving honoree, embodying the spirit of the award’s namesake, Virginia E. Cárdenas.

Thank you to all who attended!
Xico’s 35th Annual Dinner and Art Auction was a huge success, welcoming more than 550 people including Governor Katie Hobbs and many other dignitaries. More than 30 pieces of art were sold in the live auction, which raised funds for Xico’s programs and services.
